Trailside Bar And Grill

My first visit to Trailside Bar and Grill was actually great. It was a Wednesday around 8 PM. I was greeted by a waitress right away and seated at the bar. She gave me a menu, took my order, and brought me a cold Corona with lime. I ordered 10 wings and they were excellent, juicy, nicely sized, and well tossed in garlic parmesan sauce. The waitress checked on me multiple times, offered water with the wings, and made sure I had everything I needed, especially drinks. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, my second visit yesterday was the complete opposite. For context, I recently moved to the city and wasn’t familiar with how this bar operates. When I walked in, no one greeted me. I had to walk up and take a seat at the bar myself, which is fine. But after sitting there for about 20 minutes, no one acknowledged me or offered a menu. Meanwhile, I watched people who came in after me being greeted, handed menus, and served cold beers while sitting right next to me. Eventually I politely asked a server for a beer and a menu. I got the beer, but the menu never came. I asked again, and it was forgotten again. Finally I asked a male owner/manager (not sure which) for a menu, and only then did I receive one. I ordered the same garlic parmesan wings as my first visit. When the plate arrived, out of the 10 pieces there were only 2 tiny drums and the rest were very small sticks. When I asked about it, I was told they can’t control what pieces go on the plate and can’t guarantee drums. While saying that, they brought me two drums on the side, which I appreciated. However, the bigger issue was the quality. The wings that were originally served were extremely small and rock hard, honestly difficult to eat. I politely called them back and explained the wings were very hard and tiny. I even made it clear that I would still keep and pay for them. I simply asked to place another order of wings and requested that they be prepared like the ones I had on my first visit, not rock hard and well tossed in sauce. Instead of addressing the issue, the owner/manager came over and told me “we can’t make you happy” and that they “won’t give out free food.” This was surprising because I never asked for free food. I was placing a completely new order for another 10 wings, not asking them to replace the original plate. What made the situation even more frustrating was seeing other customers sitting next to me receive free 20-piece wings without even placing an order, while my simple request to order another plate and have it done properly was treated like a problem. The whole interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. As someone new to the area, the experience made me feel unwelcome. Customer service from the management was extremely disappointing, and the way the situation was handled left a very bad impression. Sadly, the difference between my first visit and my second was night and day. The first order and second order in the photos, you can see the difference is evident. The second order was fixed after complains and major pushback.

I attended their Halloween party last night, and I have to say, the waitress dressed as Alice in Wonderland could have used a little more cheerfulness. It’s important to drop the attitude and put a smile on! It’s amusing to see how the staff over-serves some of the older patrons—watching these 60-year-old men start brawling like children while barely being able to stand is quite the spectacle.

not sure if i’m wrong but i think they changed their buffalo wing dip recipe because what i received tonight was just gross. mostly cream cheese, not even fully mixed together, it wasn’t hot, the cheese wasn’t melted and the chicken is now pieces of pre cut/seasoned chicken. i could’ve sworn it was different before. last time i had this was feb 2024 so maybe it’s just me but would not recommend. also my husbands poutine couldn’t be finished because the fries were so hard and inedible. a $50 meal wasted.the last photo i added is from when i had it last time, (which was a greasy mess) and it looks so different to me.

Great place. Food is always great, staff are friendly and attentive. Bonus for us we can walk in under 3 minutes. 😃

We really enjoyed ourselves here.🙌🏼Everything came out so fresh, and hot. The samosas had some heat to them, but the dipping sauce was sweet, for a nice balance. We also got the Fish and Chips, which was excellent. The French fries were upgraded to poutine, which came out delicious. Poutine is the Ishhhhh, especially in Canada. Their menu has a nice selection to it.😋First time here, and we will definitely be back again. 👌🏼☺️
