Hartzel Animal Hospital

Just wanted to now add the reason for the 5 star rating. We have been going to Hartzel for years. So many pets ago! In the last 6 months we have lost Sylvie and now Mako. Sylvie was a 10 yr old chunky calico, but suffered a leg injury and Dr. Neil tried his very best for 4 months to get the leg to start to heal, but in the end we all decided it best to end her pain and suffering for her to rest peacefully. Yesterday, our boy Mako, at 14 suffering with dementia, osteoarthritis, vision loss and muscle wastage, it was making it very hard for Mako to be at peace anymore. Dr. Neil was very honest and open with what could be done and assessing quality of life so we could make the best choice for Mako. Losing these 2 will leave large holes in our hearts for many years to come. But I want to thank all the staff for their kindness they have shown and to Dr Neil. I know these things must be hard on him too and for being a great Dr to our beloved babies. He is a great addition to the clinic .

I have been going to this veterinary office for a long time with my dog cloud (10 years) and I appreciate them so much. Dr. Martina is who I started seeing when I got cloud and she made it so easy for cloud to go and was super informative. We now see Dr. Neil and he is so good and thorough and also very honest ! I’m so thankful for the staff at hartzel animal hospital. Thank you so much for 10 years of care and many more years!

Been here for many years with our rescue cats. Became horrible and stressful to us and our cat. He became very ill and wasn't able to eat. The technician's gave fluids and something to help him want to eat. They took our first over 800. with no medication given. Was seen by 3 totally different vets none gave a low dose of pain med for him all saying something different they were told he was in showing signs of pain by hiding. 2nd visit didn't get to see a vet over 300. Our furbaby was still not eating. Last visit the 3rd time seen 2 vets for short times. Sadly our last rescue who we loved completely and was our furbaby was euthanized. Far cry from one diagnosis and then told cancer. Nope never going back here. Whatever happened to one Vet that actually showed they cared It's a corporate run veterinary hospital now. Our cat was dead on the table as they brought in the debit machine. We were upset with grief and had to take him out the front doors in front of other clients. Horrible mental stress. R.I.P to our boy. You deserved better care.

Today we had to say goodbye to our sweetest little girl Alice. Thank you so very much to wonderful doctors and technicians of Hartzel Animal Hospital for being there for us every step of the way, from her initial complaints to this day. This wasn't a great experience, because let's be honest saying goodbye to your baby is never great experience, but thank you so very much for making it a peaceful one. You even managed to get a few laughs out of us. Thank you, truly, for everything you have done for us. And I am so sorry dr. Neill it had to be you, but we really needed someone we could trust by our side at this dark moment. Thank you for being there for our good little girl. You guys have showed us compassion, care and love and we will forever be grateful.

This place is wonderful! I bring my beloved pets here. One needed an amputation, and I was quite frightened and concerned, but the staff provided excellent comfort for both me and my pet. They performed a beautiful surgery, and the healing process went extremely well. The way the staff treats the animals as if they were their own is what makes this place exceptional.
